Student Outreach

In 2019, ECEF’s Student Outreach committee was reexamined and renewed with a focus on student well-being.  It is the belief of our committee that students can’t learn well if they don’t feel well or if their needs aren’t being met.  Whether that means hungry bellies, not having warm clothing, needing medical or mental help, or not being able to participate in various clubs or teams or activities due to financial hardship.  This group was reformed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and at the time we partnered with Exeter Cares to provide support and assistance to students who have various needs due to economic hardship.  The Student Outreach committee currently has 22 members from our community, ranging from our Superintendent, Administration, and faculty to building counselors to local pastors and business owners.  All of us combined help find resources and come up with ideas to help provide a “hand up” to our students.

Our group works closely with the District guidance and nursing departments, as well as Pupil Services to address needs as they are brought to the attention of the staff and teachers.  We work especially close with our school district Social Worker and the K-12 Student Support Coordinator. During the 2020-2021 school year, we were able to provide $1,626.64 in support to students; in the 2021-2022 school year, we provided $9,457.14.  That’s a total of $11,083.78 since January of 2021.  This does not include in-kind donations.  Items and services that we have contributed to students that needed support include (but not limited to):
